Modern Vampire Costume Ideas for Women

While looking for awesome vampire costume ideas for women, did you consider going with a more modern vampire costume? Inspiration could come from a multitude of media including vampire movies, vampire novels, vampire shows, and even vampire music!

A great vampire costume idea for women would be to think of your favorite vampire on the big screen or on TV and emulate that vampire's style. Tons of choices lie just within your clawed grasp: Selene from Underworld, Pam or Jessica from True Blood, Dracula's Wives from Van Helsing or Bram Stoker's Dracula, Drewsilla from Buffy, and many many more.

If you're going for a vampire costume idea for women that might edge along the side of Blade, you'll want to think about vampire club costumes. A black corset with black tutu and fangs might be just the outfit for your more modern approach. Don't forget to add some ripped up layered fishnet stockings and massively tall platform lace-up black boots to wrap up the look. Coffin purses and handbags can be purchased from Hot Topic or Halloween stores during the month of October. Or you can easily go for a black leather look that would hold up for the perfect Selene Underworld vampire costume for women, as well. Black leather corsets, black leather skirts, and black leather pants can be found on amazon, as well as on ebay. You don't have to spend the money on real leather clothing, purchase faux leather and look just as sexy and dangerous!

Another modern vampire costume idea for women could include a vampire doll costume. Think Gothic Lolita with a vampire twist. Babydoll-like dresses with lace and frills, knee-high socks, black mary-jane shoes, pigtails in your hair, and then fangs with blood dripping from the corners of your mouth. Sexy, innocent, and deadly all in one. A perfect and unique vampire costume idea for women.

Victorian Vampire Costume Ideas for Women

There is nothing more elaborate, stunning, and totally decadent than a Victorian Vampire costume for women. Many options are out there to choose from, including full Victorian Vampire dresses for sale at costume websites and at Halloween superstores coming to a town near you; however, if you're looking for a more unique Victorian Vampire Costume idea for women, then you might want to bypass the pre-manufactured and wrapped Victorian Vampire costume for women and find one that is truly different than the rest.

My first suggestion is to look online at etsy.com for Steampunk costumes, including Victorian steampunk corsets, steampunk bustle skirts, steampunk hats, and even steampunk watches and jewelry. While steampunk is both Victorian and industrial, add a pair of fangs and a vampire's attitude to the look and you will have a truly authentic Victorian vampire costume idea for women that no one else at the party or club will have! Even if you wanted to add the Steampunk goggles to shield your eyes from the sun, why not?

Or try this idea out for size - a Victorian Vampire costume idea for women that mixes a Victorian vampire with a pirate...otherwise known as a vampirate! You could wear pirate boots, a turban, a corset over a peasant blouse, a sword, an eye-patch, and fangs of course.

Or you can mimic your favorite Victorian Vampire on the big screen. Try out Lucy's crazy white Victorian dress from Bram Stoker's Dracula or go for the Dracula's Wives look.

Whatever Victorian Vampire costume idea for women you go with, make sure it's original but has those key Victorian pieces - corset, Victorian boots, powdered wig or large up-do, and Cameo jewelry. And you never want to forget the fangs and blood drops!

I love most of these costumes--so GOTHIC! And I don't really mind the hint of the dominatrix in some of them. Great hub, thanks, Kitty.

It's always fun to play the role of a vampire and, with the new vampire craze inspired by the Twilight saga, it'll be a very popular choice. This hub has great ideas, esp. for those Victorian era buffs who want to kick it old school!

Paradise7 - Thanks...the gothic part is my favorite part. :) Maybe the dominatrix aspect is my favorite part though...

TattooKitty - Not a fan of Twilight myself, but many people are. I'm sure vampires will be popular this year, but they're usually popular every year nowadays. Thanks!

I have a medieval queen costume that i didnt want to wear only once so i am wearing it for halloween by turning it into a vampire just adding fangs, red contacts, cape and fake blood.

P.s. curly hair with hairpiece!

You have a lot of good ideas for anyone wanting to dress up as a Vampire. I would imagine that the Victorian look is one of the more popular Vampire costumes right now with the Twilight look running a close second.
