Ten Reasons to Love Lady Gaga: For Future Little Monsters

1. Unequivocal Talent

Lady Gaga, born Stephanie Germanotta, is one of the world's biggest superstars today and why? Lady Gaga's superstardom fame can be chalked up to sheer and unequivocal talent. If you are not a Lady Gaga fan or feel as though she is not talented, think again! Watch Lady Gaga on the video below as she wails on a piano, singing her heart out to one of her newest hits "Born This Way". Writing her own songs and creatively directing her performances, Lady Gaga has proven to be more than a one-hit, one-dimensional wonder. She has proven that she is an artist and a very talented musician.

2. Performance

What makes a star a superstar? Performance, of course! What made Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Elvis Presley world-class musicians? Their performance! Lady Gaga has a stage presence comparable to that of some of the most famous superstars of all time. If you haven't seen Lady Gaga in concert or on the Television, you will need to take my word for it...or just plan on watching Gaga's performance!

A great performer always involves her audience, amps up her audience, and loves her audience. Lady Gaga does all three of these things with spunk and pride!

3. Creative, Artistic Ability

To be a true superstar, one must be creative and have a constant artistic ability that rises above the sea of Hollywood copycats...and Lady Gaga does just that! We only have to watch her performances and listen to her music to know that she possesses ultimate creativity. Look at her costumes, are they normal by society's standards? Do they look like any other costumes you've seen before? Well, some may seem a little Madonna-esque, but most are in a world all her own! Take for instance the video of Paparazzi - one of my favorite Lady Gaga costumes is worn in this video. It is a form-fitting body-con dress with Mickey Mouse's image patterned all over, and Lady Gaga wears sunglasses that pop up to look like Mickey Mouse ears. Lady Gaga's creativity can be compared to other artists who came before her but can never be outdone by the other pop stars of today.

4. Humanitarian Action

Since exploding onto the pop scene, Lady Gaga has had other motives besides becoming famous and rich. Her efforts can be seen in humanitarian aspects, unbelievably. While many pop stars give to charities and spend some time out of their busy celebrity lives to donate to a good cause, Lady Gaga spends more than just one day a year at a charity or good-cause event. While I was at the Monster Ball Tour in Tampa this year, Lady Gaga claimed that she would donate $20,000 for every text that she received during the show (each text donated $1). There were 20,000 fans in the audience that night, so think of how much money she would be donating to a good cause if everyone texted just once! The charity she donated to? Homeless Youth of America. When asked back in 2008 about her belief in helping America's youth, Lady Gaga said, "I can write music all day about celebrities and fame and money, but none of that really matters if I can't gibe back to young people."

5. Courage

Lady Gaga's most endearing quality in my eyes is her absolute courage. Lady Gaga speaks out openly against bullying. I heard her with my own ears at the Tampa Monster Ball this past April. Her courage is nothing but amazing and inspirational. Lady Gaga is a huge humanitarian, which goes to show how she is so courageous...she also rallies for gay rights and human rights, in general.

6. Glamour

Bringing back Old Hollywood glamour in a new and outgoing way, Lady Gaga shows us that we can be glamourous but still be ourselves. To be a superstar, glamour is all a part of the position...and Lady Gaga shows it well! Move over Ava...step aside Madonna...the gorgeous and glamourous Lady Gaga is here to stay!

7. Bringing Back the "Super Fan"

Does anyone remember how fans were when Michael Jackson was really big in the '80s? Or Elvis Presley's obsessed fans? This type of fan is known as the "super fan" and has since almost died out. Lady Gaga has a desire to bring back the days of the super fan and she is doing just that! If you've ever been to one of Lady Gaga's concerts, you will see exactly what I mean. Girls gallivant around in different Lady Gaga costumes, complete with platinum blonde hair and wild heels! Lady Gaga refers to her super fans as her "little monsters" and she is sure to connect with her little monsters at any chance she can get, whether it is on television or at one of her concerts, she ensures that her fans are aware how much they mean to her.

8. Being Real

Hollywood is overran with falseness today. Women are constantly undergoing the knife in order to look better - face lifts, botox, bigger breasts, smaller butts, etc. I would guess that a good majority of the Hollywood stars and musicians have both gotten some sort of plastic surgery done; however, guess who hasn't? That's right! Lady Gaga! Why do you think she hasn't gotten any plastic surgery done yet? Because she doesn't believe in it. Lady Gaga is an advocate for acceptance and being yourself...to be real and not fake. A good example of this is the fact that she hates barbie dolls! Someone threw a barbie doll onto her stage at the Tampa concert (which I believe is a part of her show) and she literally bit the head off of the barbie doll while telling the crowds that she doesn't like the fact that society puts pressures on women to look like a barbie doll. It's nice to have a musician out there who pushes self-esteem to a higher level...one who believes in acceptance.

9. Humor

Lady Gaga also has a great sense of humor. She has appeared on Saturday Night Live at least twice now and each time she makes an appearance, she gets the audience and many viewers laughing. Watch the SNL skit that I have posted to the right and I guarantee you will get a good chuckle out of Lady Gaga's role in "Liquorville". To be a good entertainer and a superstar, humor is necessary and Lady Gaga has it!

10. Inspirational

Tying into her many facets of beauty and talent is the fact that Lady Gaga is an inspiration to her fans, to her "little monsters". She has come from a normal background but has persevered through many doubts and much bullying to make it to where she is today. "Born This Way" is an anthem to people of all different races, sexual preferences & identities, and religions everywhere. It inspires me, and I am just a normal white straight girl...but I can tell you that I know gay men, lesbian women, black, hispanic, and others feel as though this song is uplifting and shows that we can accept everyone for who they are...that we are essentially all the same, with minor differences. Lady Gaga is inspirational. Get inspired and get your paws up!

....gee this may very well be the definitive hub on Ga Ga - and although I think she may just be a new millenium Cher/Madonna on a bigger budget - I really have to say I admired her tremendously when I saw her on a 60 Minutes profile (on CBS) with Anderson Cooper.

Love your enthusiam and passion too!

Yes, I do see her as a new millenium cher or madonna, but at a level even higher in certain ways, but maybe I'm just partial. :)

She is truly a good person, no matter what the media portrays of her. A bad person wouldn't care about donating to homeless youth of america or campaigning for aids research & cure. Thanks so much for commenting...PAWS UP.
