Punk Rock Tattoo Ideas for Girls and Guys
Punk Knuckle Tattoos
What is more Punk rock than punk knuckle tattoos? Nothing! In my opinion, punk knuckle tattoos show someone's tough side. They say, "Don't eff with me, dude!"
You can be very creative with knuckle tattoos. Any sayings that are made up of eight letters are perfect for your knuckle tattoo. The punk knuckle tattoos posted here say Lonesome and MudPuppy. You could put your punk nickname on your knuckles, your favorite punk band, or anything reminding you of your punk roots.
Just remember, this particular tattoo hurts worse than other areas and will be one of the first things that people notice when they meet you. If you go with a punk knuckle tattoo, make sure you're going to be punk rock for life.
Punk Band Tattoos
Another great option for punks and punk rock lovers is to get a punk band tattoo. Punk rock in general seems to be fading out of the music scene, at least in the mainstream's eye, but you can go with one of the original punk bands, such as The Ramones or The Sex Pistols as your punk rock band tattoo. Or you could go with one of the more recent and infamous punk bands like NOFX or even The Misfits.
The Clash and Siouxsie Sioux and the Banshees would be two other awesome punk bands to make up your punk band tattoo.
Think about also the places that made punk grow into a worldwide phenomenon. I think about CBGB's bar, which is now unfortunately shut down, that stood in New York City for years and really brought punk rock into the US. The UK is the country of punk origins, so maybe you could even go with a UK flag on your arm or back. Use your imagination and make sure you are picking the punk band tattoo that you will want forever. For me, I would pick out The Ramones, as they are the classic and one of the originators of punk music.
Punk Symbol Tattoos - Anarchy, Skulls, Etc.
What symbols are essentially punk rock all the way? The sign of the rebel - anarchy! The symbol of anarchy is basically a capitalized A with a circle around it. Many Christians claim this symbol to be Satanic; however, that is not truthful. It simply represents the concept of anarchy, which has been a symbol of the punk way of life and way of thinking since day one. Rebellion is the definition of anarchy.
Another punk tattoo that you could get done is that of a skull. What else spells punk rock than a skull with a mohawk, for example? Or check out the cute punk girl with her punk skull tattoo to the right. A scary skull on a hot punk girl is total punk rock!
Any other symbol that represents punk rock or the punk community would work for your perfect punk rock tattoo. If you need even more ideas, scroll down through the punk rock tattoo photos below.

More of My Tattoo Hubs:
Hey, Chatkath! What kind of tattoo did you get and where? I have three, two of which I will be changing at some point. I have a black widow perched on my right breast, and I'm getting it covered with my favorite flower...a sunflower with my daughter's name in one of the petals. I love tattoos, I just think that people really need to THINK before getting them!
Very cool tattoo hub.
I've thought about getting one myself, but still haven't actually gone through with it. Everything I once thought would be a good idea as far as tattoos now seems like something I'm glad I'm not stuck with, so it makes me even more reluctant.
Fantastic Hub
A female friend of mine has recently had a burlesque woman tattooed to her calf and it looks fan tattoo-tastic, She wants the opposite calf now to have the burlesque girl as a skeleton- very dark.
Bud - Thanks! Yes, it's always best to wait until you are absolutely sure of what you want. It will stay with you forever.
CyclingFitness - I would love to see a pic of that tattoo. That sounds gorgeous! And the skeleton burlesque girl...even better! :)
When you say you are going to get the black widow covered with a flower, will you still be able to see the black widow underneath or not? Curious as my son has a few tattoos, some of which he may change his mind about at a later date. Good hub.
The idea is to NOT be able to see the black widow any longer. :) The black part of the middle of the sunflower would cover up the black widow totally. Thanks for stopping by again.
Hey Kitty, I love love loveeeeee this hub of yours! It took my 5 years to get my first tat after much planning and debate and I love it, but I do love my other, newer tats to. I take forever to decide but I do not think its a bad thing . Great hub!
JesadaB - I'm so happy you loved it so much! The tattoo hubs are always fun to put together and to view, especially for tattoo lovers like us! What was your first tattoo? Mine was my grandfather's name on my upper left arm. :)
Tattoos, tattoos, tattoos...Give me a break. This is just my little opinion, but these tattoo things are quite similar to Mr. Magnum PI's lip fur. It was a better time, a time when a man could be a man and a man could drive a Trans Am. Higgins did not have one of these trend setting, over priced, status quo, reality show piles. On a more upbeat note...If I were too get, um...inked? Is that how you say it? I would first get it on the small of my back, duh. It would read, "Conformist".
Mark - All I can say is, wow. You are simply a lovely person.

So funny what has happened with tattoos. I got this tiny one on my arm when I was very young and ever since all I wanted to do is cover it up! Then, about 10-plus years ago, they became all the rage, and not just for Cons and sailors (as Grandma said). It seems that Nurses to Nannies have been inked somewhere! Love the images!
