She's the quirky and outgoing girl next door, she's the Yes! girl that everyone will soon be talking about, she is Zooey Deschanel. Zooey Deschanel is an actress, a musician, and a beautiful woman with an eccentric style all her own. From her signature denim overall look (otherwise known as the "Farmer's Daughter" look) to her Bohemian dresses, Zooey Deschanel's style is one to be coveted, and actually easy to emulate with a little inspiration from Zooey herself, and of course some creativity.
So let's start off with the quintessential Zooey Deschanel overall look. Check out the picture of Zooey on the set of Yes! Man to the right. She's wearing those adorable, eccentric denim overalls, which are no doubt vintage 70's, so we are going to try to mimic this look on a budget. The first pair of denim overalls that I found, and probably the cutest and best priced, were these denim overalls for sale on forever21.com for less than $30! No doubt Zooey probably paid a pretty penny for her vintage denim overalls, but we only have to spend a total of $30 to get a similar look! No, they are not bell bottomed, but the slim leg look is just in style, too. And, can you believe it? The model's tan espadrille shoes are almost identical to Zooey's shoes above! Espadrilles are very easy to find in the Spring time and can also be found in the Summer time. I've posted a few options for espadrilles on Amazon below.

2nd Zooey Deschanel Look - Get Zooey's Style!
Recently, Zooey Deschanel posed for a spread in the magazine Nylons, and the outfit in this picture is one of the outfits she chose for the photo shoot. How stinkin' adorable is this?! With high-waisted wool shorts, puffy-sleeve blouse, black stockings, and oxford platforms, Zooey is chic and unique! In order to get this super adorable, modern Zooey Deschanel style outfit on a lower budget, we need to do a bit of internet searching.
The first thing to search for is the high-waisted, pleated shorts. These are very much in style for Summer and Fall, so you shouldn't have a difficult time finding a similar pair. I uncovered a cute pair that look similar to Zooey's on modcloth.com for only $55. Zooey Deschanel's high-waisted shorts probably cost twice that price! They are not identicial in that they aren't constructed of the same fabric, however, they are pretty stinkin' close. They give off that chic, bookworm look that Zooey Deschanel pulls of so well.
As for Zooey Deschanel's puffy-sleeved, babydoll style blouse that she has tucked into her high-waisted shorts, I found a very similar and endearing blue blouse with puffy sleeves and a neck-bow on modcloth for a mere $35! Tuck these into the modcloth shorts, add a pair of black or black lacey stockings underneath, and tie the Zooey Deschanel style look together with a black pair of oxford style platforms and you'll have yourself a quirky, chic outfit just like Zooey's! Wear this to study group, work functions, or school. You'll look intelligent and stylish all in the same breath.

I have always loved Zooey's vintage look and I also like her singing voice that has a retro lilting to it. She & Him, her collaboration with M. Ward, is one of my favorite musical duos. I'm looking forward to watching her on TV as well. I voted this hub up and awesome!
I am not the first or only to say that Zooey looks just like Katy perry. The two have been comp[ared publically and rumor has it they would be willing to go shopping together! I don't know how much of that is true, but they do share a lot of similarities.

It would suit you, Nell! Yes, Zooey is fairly new to popularity here in the US. Have you heard of Jim Carrey? He's a very famous comedic actor here, I'm sure you've heard of him? Anyway, Zooey did a movie with him called Yes Man. She also played in the movie Elf with Will Farrell. I have to admit I think the denin overalls look does nothing to flatter her. However the model wearing them from forever21 looks fantastic in the slim leg version. The book cut version I think does very little for Deschanel.
