Crazy Celebrity Conspiracy Theories: Lady Gaga and the Illuminati? Paul McCartney is Dead?

A Conspiracy Theory can be defined as a theory seeking to explain a disputed case or matter as a plot by a secret group or alliance rather than an individual or isolated act. To me, conspiracy theories tend to seem extremely far-fetched and basically just plain crazy. I have heard everything from "the government controls the weather" to "the government is trying to control our minds by means of radio waves". More recently, however, I have heard two conspiracy theories that really threw me for a loop. These particular conspiracy theories involve the music industry and three very famous icons that have come out of the music industry...Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, and the Jacksons. While these theories do not relate with one another, they seem to display a true sense of insanity that some exuberant fans and bored haters can have in common. Of course, I could be wrong and these conspiracy theories could be true...

While browsing through videos of Lady Gaga on youtube (if you know me, you know that I am a HUGE fan), I came across a video with the title "Lady Gaga Illuminati Puppet." Obviously I was immediately intrigued to find out what this video was all about! I tend to watch anything I get my hands on involving Lady Gaga, though usually the videos are light-hearted and fun interviews as opposed to the negative gossip ones. Moreover, I felt the need to investigate this strangely titled video and what I discovered was almost more than I could have imagined! The video contained random images of Miss Gaga with captioning stating single-lined sentences such as "lady gaga is the illuminati's puppet", "her hand symbols are clearly that of Satanic occultism", "her golden dress is symbolic of the Egyptian sun-god Ra," and on and on it goes. Actually, see for yourself, I've posted one of the many here.

This conspiracy theory basically states that the music industry is controlled and ran by a secret society, the Illuminati. They are in cohorts with the government and their ultimate main objective is to control the public's minds. They believe they can do this through what the media spews, including music icons and fashion. Lady Gaga is one of their biggest and most useful puppets or tools yet. She has a strong following and uses hidden occult symbols in her videos and songs, which apparently no one recognizes except for the most intelligent! These symbols and suggestions are meant to aid the Illuminati in ultimately controlling the minds of the young and easily-influenced.

Now, while I agree that Lady Gaga pushes the envelope with her religious or anti-religious antics, I found this conspiracy theory to have many holes and honestly to be more than whacky. My first question - why do these conspiracy theorists talk about the Illuminati as a Satanic occult? From everything that I have ever read or heard about the Illuminati, they can be related to the Freemasons or free-thinkers of a Bavarian movement back in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Of course it should be noted that many priests and pastors despised and taught against this movement, even back then, claiming them to be evil and corrupt. My second question - if the Illuminati had such power to control our minds, why not do it through other means too? I mean, why not just get it over with and flat-out control us by way of everything? I'm sure these theorists would retort with a clever "they do."

While I can see how they make the connection between a few symbols and themes used in Lady Gaga's work, most of their ideas seem to be reaching. One particular relation made me literally laugh out loud. A picture of Lady Gaga in a black dress with butterflies scattered all over it was said to be related to the "monach mind-control project." Obviously this is another "mind-control" theory involving the symbology of the monach butterfly. Crazy! How many people have clothing with butterfly patterns? Probably millions! That doesn't mean that everyone who finds butterflies beautiful or fascinating may have something to do with the Illuminati's plan to take over the populations and create a New World Order.

The conspiracy theory that actually sparked my idea for this hub is the "Paul is Dead" theory. And yes, I am talking about Paul McCartney. My co-worker actually showed this unbelievable theory to me, by way of a simple Google search. This theory or urban legend claims that the REAL Paul McCartney was killed in a car accident in 1966 and was then replaced with an imitation or an imposter. Apparently his fellow Beatles did not want the world to know of his death and decided to continue with making and playing music with a look-alike Paul.

Many people have heard of the idea of playing records backwards in order to hear hidden messages, and after this theory came out, people began playing The Beatles' records backwards and supposedly discovering very revealing things. In addition to backwards songs, some of the whispered lyrics of The Beatles tracks gave hints to their fans that Paul had indeed passed. One of those songs was Strawberry Fields Forever, in which John Lennon sang in the final line of the song "I buried Paul." There were various other reports of hidden clues to Paul's untimely death sprinkled about magazines and radio reports; however, in 1969, Paul McCartney and his family landed on the cover of Life magazine in an effort to clear up the rumors. The cover's line read "Paul is Still With Us."

Back in the late 80s and early 90s, there was a theory circulating the U.S. that Latoya Jackson was not actually a real person, but that she was an alternate ego of Michael Jackson. My mom first told me about this silly rumor. I believe that it started because people claimed to never see the two together in public, adding to this idea was the close resemblance between the two. If you compare pictures, the resemblance is truly uncanny.

The main meat missing behind this theory is that no one truly came up with a reason as to why MJ would be dressing as a woman and acting like his supposed sister. At least, I haven't found a single reason yet! The oddness continues now that Michael Jackson has died, people claim that Michael's death was faked and that he is now living as Latoya Jackson in order to escape his bad rap and mountains of debt. But if this is the case, that must mean that Latoya never existed and that he planned this means of an escape route back in the 80s!
