Baby's First Christmas Stocking: A Time-Cherished Tradition
Baby's first Christmas is a very special day and should be commemorated with something simple yet special, too. A Baby's first Christmas stocking is the perfect item to give to a baby or to purchase for your own baby. If you're looking to start your own Christmas traditions, baby's first Christmas stocking can be a part of a yearly Christmas tradition of hanging stockings from the mantle.
As your baby gets older, he or she will come to adore their baby's first Christmas stocking. At some point, they may want a more grown-up Christmas stocking, but don't get rid of baby's first Christmas stocking! Keep it and preserve it for when your child is an adult, and then they can give it to their first baby.
When picking out baby's first Christmas stocking, there are many things to take into consideration, but luckily, there are tons of baby's first Christmas stockings to choose from.
Baby's First Christmas Stockings - Adorable and Unique
When choosing baby's first Christmas stocking, you are faced with a whole myriad of options. Various fabrics, colors, patterns, sizes, and quality will all pop up in your search for baby's first Christmas stocking.
The first thing you'll want to decide is what color do you want baby's first Christmas stocking to be? If you aren't sure of the baby's gender (maybe the baby hasn't been born yet), then you'll want to choose a baby's first Christmas stocking that is neutral. Red and green traditional Christmas stockings could be the perfect baby's first Christmas stocking in this situation.
If the baby is a girl, go all out and buy the quintessential pink baby's first Christmas stocking with all the girly trimmings! Stars, hearts, pink snowmen, and even Christmasy kitty cats are all available as feminine baby's first Christmas stocking options. You can even get a baby's first Christmas stocking personalized with the baby girl's name. The same goes for a boy...personalization is available through many stores online and embroidery stores in your local area.
If the baby is a boy, you may want to opt for the traditional blue as baby's first Christmas stocking's primary color. Moons, stars, Santas, penguins, and snowmen galore are patterns available for baby boy's first Christmas stocking.
After choosing the color and pattern of baby's first Christmas stocking, my next suggestion is to choose the size of the stocking. You don't want the stocking to be too large for the baby, and even miniature Christmas stockings are adorable options for baby's first Christmas stocking (they can always upgrade a size as they grow!)
Whatever baby's first Christmas stocking you choose, be sure to purchase a good quality stocking. Cheap felt can be flimsy and not last through the years, breaking down after being stored in hot or cold attics and basements, etc. You'll want to pick baby's first Christmas stocking that has the structural support of a thick knitted fabric such as velour or piled cotton. The fuzzy baby's first Christmas stockings will last a long time, as well.
If you're not at all impressed with the baby's first Christmas stocking options available online or in stores, get creative and make your own!
Have fun shopping for baby's first Christmas stocking and have a Merry Christmas!

Stockings are a time honored tradition in our family. My grandmother made ours when we were babies and my family has carried on that tradition even after her passing. Even as an adult, I still love seeing the stocking my grandmother made 40+ years ago still hanging each Christmas.
